We use gauge 5 for all Navy styles, including Beanies and Scarves. They are our heaviest knits, which we consider heavy-duty.

We use gauge 7 for our Seaman, Sailor and Skipper styles. They are heavy and durable, and we consider them our medium-weight sweaters.

We use gauge 12 for our Work Jacket, Marine styles, Polos and Boatsmans. They are considered our medium-light styles, yet just as durable as the heaviest.
