Family boat
Seven years ago, Dagmar and Frederik, both educated as cabinet makers, rescued a boat from a ship graveyard then renovated it to become their family getaway. Now with little Sonja, they spend quality time with friends and family among the ships in a quaint marina close to Øresund Strait. We had the pleasure of visiting them for a sunny afternoon as they prepared the boat for their upcoming summer vacation. A big thanks to Dagmar, Frederik and Sonja for inviting us onboard Photos: Mayuko Takyu

Ceramicist Yuichi Romita
We recently visited ceramicist Yuichi Romita at his workshop in Malmö, Sweden. Originally a graphic designer from London, Yuichi relocated to Japan in 2017, immersing himself in ceramics under the tutelage of a master from a renowned family lineage in the craft, recognized as national treasures. For four years, he dedicated himself to the traditional apprenticeship, spending countless hours preparing clay and maintaining studio cleanliness as a sign of respect to his mentor. Transitioning from the bustling city life of London to the disciplined focus on clay and ceramics was a significant cultural adjustment for him. After four years of intensive training, he departed with a distinctive education steeped in one of Japan's oldest ceramic traditions. This journey led him to an Artist-in-Residence program at Guldagergaard in Skælskør, Denmark, where he began to develop his own artistic style, melding a technique spanning over 500 years with contemporary forms. Currently based in Malmö, Sweden, he has established his workshop and continues to explore his creative expression through ceramics. Yuichi is wearing our Work Jacket in Hunting Green.

Olive Oil Harvest
In late Fall, Psyche Organic’s Theo Constantinou and Chef Mati Pichci went to Kyparissia in the western Peloponnese to harvest biodynamic olives for their specialty, single-variety olive oil. We were happy to be a small part of their travels, keeping them warm. Psyche Organic aims to reduce its impact on the environment wherever possible. They source biodynamic, organic olives from small agricultural communities in Greece, a country steeped in the tradition of cultivating high-quality produce. Their packaging is made for optimal storage and is almost completely recyclable. All decisions in the company are made with the global environmental crisis in mind, they strive to do no harm. POPEYE GREEN
In the beginning of 2022 Popeye Magazine reached out with the idea of collaborating on a product for their next pop-up webshop. Popeye Magazine is an iconic magazine based in Tokyo we’ve admired for ages, so we couldn’t have been more excited! After many talks and great ideas, we agreed to develop an exclusive colour together – we’ve called it Popeye Green! Spinach was one of the first things that came to mind when we thought of Popeye. So, selecting a green colour was an obvious and playful decision. We wanted to reference the spinach that Popeye (the cartoon character) would eat to gain strength, then went a bit further. Thinking about where we can gain strength in our everyday lives – we all agreed it was nature! From delicious vegetables to the foliage of a forest, green is a colour of growth, repair, and resilience. Popeye Magazine was first published in 1976, making it the first of its kind to publish stories specifically about menswear in Japan. It has since grown to distribute globally, inspiring a generation with editorials about Japanese fashion and lifestyle with the enduring tagline ‘Magazine for City Boys’. As we prepare for our 15th year anniversary, we look to Popeye’s longevity and evolution for inspiration. It has been a pleasure working with them to develop this colour that means so much to all of us. Popeye Green - made for city boys and girls, sailors, hunters, and for looking good.

Fyrgården, Anholt
Fyrgården lies at the northeast tip of the island Anholt. It’s located strategically in the middle of the high tides of the crystal-clear Kattegatt Sea. Built in 1826 as a diamond-shaped stronghold, the sole purpose of this house was to protect the small community living there from the harsh northern winds. Originally used to house generations of lighthouse keepers, their families, and assistants. Today, Fyrgården has become a home and an institution. A sphere of creativity where different projects support and cultivate Fyrgården's unique qualities. During summer, a long-table pop-up dinner called fælles takes place along with a pop-up shop selling Andersen-Andersen knit and products from Grethe, inspired by the island and the old lighthouse. Our friend Alf, co-creator of fælles and founder of Grethe, captured all images at Fyrgården

Marine
In Denmark, we often find ourselves indoors during the winter. And it’s always interesting to see how others spend their time at home. Rosa and Frederik opened their apartment to us, giving us a peek into their daily lives. The Marine series is our lightest collection of wool sweaters, created as functional midlayer garments. Perfect under a heavy knit or on their own. Marine are knitted in gauge 12 using our signature, extra-spun yarn. Available in three classic styles: Turtleneck, Crewneck and Polo. Camping in Scotland
'It was the first time we had an outdoor vacation like this, but we would for sure love to do it again. Scotland is such a beautiful country and very easy to camp in.' We love seeing Andersen-Andersen in action, and the Autumn weather in Scotland couldn’t have been better. In October, the Karstad family, including chef Mikkel Karstad, Camilla Karstad and their children, went on a road trip along the beautiful Scottish coastline to the Isle of Skye. They naturally spent most of their time outside hiking, fishing, cooking, and swimming in the lakes. The trip culminated in a family-style, long-table dinner they hosted at Glen Dye near Aberdeen. Lyserød with Tal R.
What is Lyserød? It's is the Danish word for pink, but pink is not quite the right word for the colour we've developed with Danish artist Tal R.'There’s no such thing as a Lyserød Sailor Sweater, but that didn’t stop us from making one. It began several years ago when Peter and I really wanted to make a Lyserød sweater but knew it was impossible to work into the concept of our company. Peter suggested we ask Tal R to help develop the colour, and here we are today.'- Cathrine Lundgren-Andersen

Skoleskibet Danmark
Every year, 80 students leave the modern world behind to spend three months at sea on Skoleskibet Danmark (Training Ship Danmark), a fully rigged three-masted ship from 1932. We’ve provided sailor sweaters as part of the uniforms since 2017, and we’re proud to support the ambitions of this wonderful ship.Skoleskibet Danmark is exactly what it sounds like – a floating education. For the young Danish students who get to learn the basics of sailing, it’s often a life-changing experience. No phones, very limited internet access - just a chance to test themselves in an environment a long way from their comfort zone.

It could have been a chair
The sailor sweater was not always destined to be a sailor sweater. It could have been a lamp or a coat stand. It could very easily have been a chair. When we started, our only wish was to make something usable, beautiful and durable – a homage to the Danish design tradition of making functional objects without compromising on craft. It’s a way of thinking and being that we share with the exceptionally skilled craftspeople at A. Petersen. The philosophies of our two companies are informed by history but inspired by the demands of a sustainable future. Just as our sweaters are knitted to last a lifetime, A. Petersen makes furniture with a conscience. The things we create will only become more beautiful through time and use. Nothing is throwaway here. Founded in 2014 to honour the Danish design tradition while bringing it into the future, A. Petersen makes furniture slowly. Each piece is crafted in a measured way with an acknowledgement of tradition and a determination to last a lifetime – and beyond. If you ever find yourself in Copenhagen, be sure to pay their shop and showroom a visit. For now, we’re happy to share a bit of their world with you here.
