Signature yarn
Our signature yarn is made from mulesing-free, 100% pure new wool sourced in Patagonia and Uruguay. The wool fibres are collected, carefully cleansed, then worsted to remove short fibres. We give the yarn an extra spin during the spinning process to create a denser, more durable yarn that is far less likely to pill.
Undyed yarn
Launched in 2016 in collaboration with our spinning mill, we have carefully selected the best wool from brown sheep to achieve an authentic and rich moretta colour. The sheep for our special wool are sheared, then the wool is cleansed, worsted and spun.
Organic Cotton
Our organic cotton yarn is produced in accordance with the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS). The cotton is sourced in Turkey, then spun into our signature yarn in Northern Italy. The cotton fibre we've selected, with our signature extra spin, makes our finished garments more durable and gives a unique, crisp feel.
Indigo dyed yarn
Our indigo yarn is fibre-dyed using natural indigo leaves harvested in France and India. The leaves are combined with supporting herbs to affix the indigo colour to the wool. After dyeing, the fibres are worsted and spun onto cones ready for knitting. We’ve partnered with the only dye house in the world that has a Woolmark certificate for their herb-dyeing process.
Repair Kit
Our repair kit contains essential tools for repairing your Andersen-Andersen wool sweater: a mending needle, sewing needles, our signature yarn and a repair guide explaining how to fix the most common repairs. Choose the colour you like to mend your sweater with – it can match or be any colour you’d like. You can repair yourself or hand over the kit and sweater to your local tailor, so they have the correct tools and yarn for repairing.
The yarn is made of our signature 100% pure new wool, made in Italy.
The kit is made at Hans Knudsens Institut in Copenhagen - a social economic enterprise helping physically, mentally or socially challenged people back into work.
